Reading the posts it looks like a lot of the snow is already gone.
I might just ride the Denali Hwy. for a few miles and stay in the motor home at night now its warm.

Dave,

We have gone down the weekend after Arctic Man the last several years. Last year we parked at the old Isabel airstrip that had been plowed for Arctic Man parking. We're going again this year. Here's a link to last springs trip:

The year before we followed the snowplows to Maclaren Summit. We set up camp where they quit each day.

I'd plan to drive down the Denali Hwy and if the roads open far enough, stay near MacLaren to do some riding off the road.

Dave, not sure when we're going to Summit but we will definitely be there over the weekend after Arctic Man. Our camper is an Okanagan on a Silver 2006 F-350, license plate "1 TON". Stop by, the frig will be full of beer. We'll be parked at the airstrip if the road from the Rich to the airstrip is still open.

As to 4-wheeling into Quartz Creek, typically the new section of the trail isn't open beyond Little Champion Creek because of snow drifts until the middle of June. Might be sooner this year. This photo of the new section was taken June 4, last year from the old trail.

Well we did it, we drove to Summit last Wed. eve and came home last night. It was probably the best weekend after Arctic Man trip we have made if you don't count the raging blizzard we encountered from Donnelly Flats to Summit on the drive down. On the up side that blizzard dumped over a foot of snow in the Hoodoos making for great riding. Weather was mostly severe clear. Friday we moved from the Isabel Airstrip to Waters Edge Cotteges http://www.alaska-highway.org/delta/wat ... -cottages/ on the south end of Summit Lake and met up with our crew.
