Are people heading down the night prior and staying in paxon or just leaving really early the morning of the 8th?. Does anyone know how much it is to stay at the Paxon lodge?

I believe its 150 per night out there. Just stayed out there over Valentines Day Weekend. Came in from the Cantwell side. Stayed the night rode out to Paxson and back and stayed another night. Then rode back to Catnwell. The whole denali hwy is super smooth with only the occasional wind drifts. If it wasnt' for the flat light you could really make great time.

150 a night at Paxson Lodge, wow, never figured their rooms were that much. They better be in better shape than the last time I stayed there. Last year I think it was $50.00 a night.

Wife, grandson and I are leaving early Sat AM, probable around 5:30. It's about 3 and 1/2 hours drive time, around 175 miles.

$150 a night gets you the delux cabin (running water and TV) at Maclaren. Paxon isn't anywhere near that price.

If they could see this conversation at Paxon, they would probably sign up as "business" members.

Hey, on the way in lets take the Seven mile trail through the Gap and check out that country. I will be pulling a skimmer and can take some gear for folks.

How much is gas at the Lodge? I assume there is bedding and you only need to bring personal items and clothes. Will they put lunches to gether or do we need to take stuff for that. I know supper and breakfast are included.

Yes to the bedding, I think lunch runs around $10.00 for a sack lunch. We usually bring lunch stuff, sandwich makings and snacks with us for when were out riding.

Gas was around $4.00 a gal last I heard. Not bad considering that they have to haul it all in during the summer and store it or haul it in by sled to have it available.

I can take 4- 5 gallon jugs if needed. I am not bringing gas. I buy gas from the Lodge to help them out. I was offering up the skimmer in case folks pack for a week like I tend to do.

They only have regular unleaded gas at Maclaren so if you have a sled that takes premium, you need to haul it with you.

I decided to head down Friday and stay at the Paxon Lodge. It sounded like several people were doing that according to the Lodge. Who all is headed down Friday and what time?

Looks like the wife and I are also heading down Friday, assuming Paxson Lodge has room. If so, well be leaving around 5:30 or 6:00 PM
