Tanana Flats Anyone

Thinking about crossing the Tanana at the south end of Cushman, if the ice bridge is in and riding around the Flats.

Anyone interested ? Meet at the So Cushman where the Dike crosses it.

Maybe a trail in by now wasn't a week ago but no ice bridge this year off year for the Air Force. I would wonder if you could get to the swamp from the mouth of the Chena easier?

Dean and I were thinking about starting in town, riding down the Dike and taking south Cushman, then across the Tanana.

Not sure how I feel about the Chena yet

Maybe the Dike to the Chena and Tanana then across, assuming the river isn't open at the confluence.

Anyone been down the Chena at all ???

I'LL go riding. just let me know when and where to meet and i will be there. Also, I have been up and down the chena a little and it wasn't to bad.

If anyone is interested in leaving from Chena Small Tacks Rd. park a few people can park there and I can park a couple at my place if you don't mind another tag-a-long. I was on the Chena Sun. afternoon and it was pretty well covered with a few slushy spots. I went down to the riverboat Discovery without even getting on the ice. Plenty of shore space in most areas. I'm going to check a little further down this afternoon to see how it is at the mouth.

I'm PMing you all, got parking all set.

I figured we'd ride down the Dike to the Chena/Tanana confluence and cross there to get into the flats. If it's open, we'll head back down the Dike to So Cushman and cross there.

Should be able to get across one place or the other
