Snow Rondy is one event that goes no matter what the temps.

We may cancel an event or 2, but the Rondy will be on either way.

Volunteer help appreciated, especially with the Fun Drags. I could use help on the track during the race and someone to handle sign ups from Noon to 2:00
Chena Flood Project Snowmobile Rendezvous and Safety Day

The eighth annual Chena Flood Control Project Snowmobile Rendezvous and Safety Day will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2007, at the Corps of Engineers Project Office from noon until 6:00 p.m. This family event is held each year to promote safe and responsible snowmobile riding in the Fairbanks area and on the 20,000 acre flood control project.

Rendezvous activities include a children’s snowmobile safety rodeo, ‘Tired Iron’ preview show of antique and classic snowmobiles, fun drag races, equipment displays, tug-of-war event, bonfire, swap meet and avalanche safety seminar.

This year’s event sponsors include: the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fairbanks North Star Borough Department of Parks and Recreation, Fairbanks Snow Travelers, Northern Lights Snowmobile Club and Compeau’s Inc.

The Corps’ Project office is located at 3800 Laurance Road. From Fairbanks take the Richardson Highway two miles past the community of North Pole and turn left (north) on Laurance Road. Follow Laurance Road along the dam to the Chena Project Office compound area.
