I did the ride, the 100 mile loop, Sunday with three others from the
Elliot Hwy end. We left town at 7:30a and the temp was -15 in town and it was 2 in the mountains. Be prepared to break trail. The wind was blowing and
all the trails were drifted in with two to six foot drifts. Also take a saw, we encountered several trees across the trail. Windy Gap
Divide, the wind was blowing about 45mph with white-out conditions through the divide. The trail from the Steese did not look as if anyone had traveled it in the last week. Don't forget extra gas, we come across a rider that ran out five miles from the parking lot.
Have fun,
Al
