What a trip ! 18 Sleds & 19 people showed up for this ride. It all started with 10 of us @ Sam's Sourdough café.
From there we met up with the rest of the gang at the top of Murphy Dome. The weather was +10* slight winds
15 miles to the Chatinika River for a break - road was good shape with minor drifting.
1 mile down stream to the Dunbar trail- the trail was narrow in places but in good shape. Two ponds were wind blown track very light to follow. Wind was minimal in the low lying tree areas. /there were a lot of senic areas along the way
31 miles later we arrived @ the Tolovana Hot Springs @ 3pm. The wind was ripping. Short break - then a quick return trip to Murphy Dome. We arrived at the dome @ 5:30pm. Once we hit the river 4 of us broke a fast trail to the Dome ! The road on the way back was blown over on top. We had to bust drifts for about a mile. Tim said that John J. wanted to load up un gale force winds - well he got his wish! All in All this was a great trip !
