Feb 14th: Sweetheart Ride

Open for discussion

For that don't know, this ride goes for River Park to Nenana, lunch and then back. It's about 60 miles one way all down the Tanana.

bring your "A" game I'm bringing my XLT Special, going down will be a nice fun ride,
coming back I plan on setting a land speed record,
I have a lady friend that is willing to drive a pickup down with a trailer in case people only want to go one way.
if the weather is nice though she wants to ride..
anyone thinking of just going one way?

and DR X i have the reverse kit for you
No track and engine? what's the point?

Forecast for Sunday
Sunday
Partly cloudy. Highs near 10 above.
I'll be ready to ride and might need some help leading. So speak up if your willing to help me out. Jody is down do to a broken ankle, Paul just had surgery, so I've lost the extra ride leaders.

I'll call Monderosa and let them know were on our way :grtruckn:

Thanks PB I was actually gonna call your tom. I get off at 630 so just let me know when you will be where lol. I'll be coming back from Eielson so anywhere in your stomping grounds is good. The wife wants to go (she just got her first machine) but pretty sure she would be more than willing and excited to get a ride back which makes a good pair out of us for the land-speed record lol  . Talk to you tom!

The sweetheart run usually takes all day, but I'll let you know about later in the week.

There is a ramp at the landing you can use.

The plan is to leave Chena Pump Landing at 9:30 AM so I'd say be there at 9:00 to off load and gear up.

If I can get back to town in time I will be joining in, Dont know if the wife will join in but if its warm like forcasted I think she will. If the wife joins in I wont be part of the land speed record, but if not count me in!

:sledwave:
Anyone know if the recent heatwave has any effect on ice conditions for the ride tomorrow?

The Nenana river at Nenana has some open water spots. So you all will have to be cautious on the river it is warm down there. Break up is comming quick this year!

Thanks for the heads up on the river at Nenana. There are a couple options to get by it, we'll play it by ear and see how the river trail is, usually has a good ice bridge near Nenana to cross.

Just did a check on ice thickness, last report was 44 Inches, I don't think we need to worry.
