Greetings,
Couple of questions. My wife and I were thinking about joining you guys since we live 1 mile up the road from Ivory Jacks.
How many miles do u see this ride being? Are you taking the trail at the end of Jones road up Hatte Creek to Old Murphy Dome Rd? If so at the top of the hill do you guys plan on going east on Old Murphy dome road as that's been plowed a couple weeks back and there's very little snow on the road east bound. The wife and I both have mountain sleds and don't really want to do a whole lot of riding on the road. On the upside the trail conditions up here are in pretty decent shape and we are getting a light dusting of snow now.
I sure wish that Chatanika Lodge sold gas. I ran out of gas out there 2 weeks back and they were absolutely no help. My darn Polaris 800 RMK gets 60 to 80 miles on it's 12 gallon tank. However I did just clean the VES system and man what a difference in power.
And lastly I would assume non FST members are welcome to ride and check the group out?
Thanks!

I just got a call from Ronnie from his groomer. He was turning around at the Elliot Highway and grooming his way back to the Chatanika Lodge. Yesteday I groomed the trails up here on top of Cleary Summit and today I groomed from here to Champaign Rock. I rode to the lodge this morning and the trails are in good shape now. Temperature up here is plus 10 and no wind. Should be a good ride tomorrow. Check our weather up here at:

Christien&Shelbye,
I have a gas hog also and have put a Tour Buddy on it.

I won't be on the tour tomorrow but assume they will go up Jones Road to the O'Conner Creek Trail to the Murphy Dome Road. About a mile on the Murphy Dome Road to a trail that heads North East to the pipeline to the Chatanika Valley and up the valley to the lodge. Map below.

I was wondering what happened to our fearless leaders for today's ride??? We had 8 of us show up, with 2 being first time FST guest riders. We all waited around until 9:30am and no leaders hmmmmm??? We all discussed our situation, and thankfully one of our guests, Chris, knew how to get us to Murphy Dome Rd, then Eric and I lead the rest of the way. We did lose 2 of our riders before we ever left Ivory Jacks, the Ski Doo did not want to go.

It was a little colder than expected in the beginning, but we made it to Chatanika and had a wonderful lunch. Thankfully it warmed up for the trip back, we stopped a couple different places to play, had a really good time. Chris's sled fouled out a plug on the way back, but they had a spare and made it the rest of the way back with no problems. It turned out to be a beautiful ride, made some new friends and learned some new trails.

Yes, we had a wonderful day. Thanks everyone! I'm worried about the leader. What happened? Are you OK?

The wife & I were glad we turned out for the ride yesterday. Despite my sled problems we all had a blast. I think Shelbye has some photos of the ride she'll post up. Again it was fun riding with some new people and checking out some new ways to get to trails. If I can get my sled problems fixed we'll deff. be joining you guys next weekend. Where do we sign up by the way? Just give Larry our membership fees? Off to load up the trailer and head out to do some ice fishing today. Everyone have a great rest of your weekend and hopefully a fabulous start to your week!

Glad it worked out. I was suppose to be the back up leader but was out of town. Kudos to Chris and LowRider for filling in.
