Fairbanks Snow Travelers

Has anyone been out in the Fish Creek area near Fort Knox recently to determine if the creek is passable by snow machine?

We were out there in November for one of our early rides but it had not overflowed enough to make it passable from the other side.

Looking a making a run from 11 Mi CHSR to Chat Lodge with some work buddies in a couple weeks and trying to figure out if we can easily get across or if we have to look at an alternate route.

If the regular crossing is still un-passable, from the CHSR side, follow Fish creek to the right (should be a visible trail about 100 feet before the creek) for a couple 100 yards. The creek bank slopes down and is almost level with the creek at this point.

Cross it there, once across you'll see an obvious trail (to the left) that goes back to the main trail.
