Goin back to Summit this Sat (23rd)

#1 Post by dirtyrice »

We had so much fun at summit this weekend we are going back again. Right now its just me and one other guy. I will be leaving from North Pole around 6:00 am Saturday morning.

Come on out, the snow up there is great. By this weekend that 3ft of fresh powder should be settled down enough so we wont get stuck as much.

Trust me John. After getting myself buried in a 12ft deep cornice.... If you want to get stuck, it wont be hard to find a place to bury it :)

Will you be parked at the monument? Possibility that some friends and us will be headed down there, we haven't ridden the area very much and were wondering where to go. We are usually heading into Maclaren for one of their great burgers after we drive that far!! :grtruckn:

Yes we park at the monument. Hopefully it wont be flat light conditions when we start and we can head straight up top and play for hours!

Are you the 2 guys that blew the belt on the flats? I was on the grey Summit.

Yep. That was us. About 2 hours after you stopped by the M7 blew a belt too. When I was going to change it the secondary clutch came off in my hands! Apparently the bolt was so loose it fell off and made the secondary start moving loosely then blew the belt. Towing it back was a major pain in the butt because of how deep and loose the powder was. Not to mention my fuel light came on just before this all happened!

Made it back though. Got a little work to do on the m7 though.

Who would have thought there would be any negative comments regarding deep powder in a year like this.

The snow was awesome though.
