On thursday while reving the engine on a snowmachine trying to clear a miss the 1 1/4inch track off a 600 xc sp
seperated and slapped the young man holding the sled up. the track was rolling @40 to 60 mph
the track hit with enough force to do the following damage to him.
shattered the ankle and rotated it 180 degrees ,, broke both tib and fib (lower leg bones)
and left them exposed to the air (compound break) and broke the thigh bone (femur) which took doc's 2 days to find
most of the injuries should heal the hope is that he will keep the foot and while have limited mobility still be able to walk on it
All of us have done the same thing at one time or another.....might be time to rethink this action
