The area was wind blown, if your track slide off the hard pack trail and broke the crust, you sunk into 2 feet of sugar powder, getting going again wasn't to bad as long as your skis didn't get hung up under the crust or your sled wasn't leaning sideways on the trail edge. Of course others might disagree with the "not to bad" part
The fields on the return via the Commissioner trail were nice, but rough, love to get out there when it wasn't wind blown. The fields started at about point 596 and lasted through 698 or so. Big grassy areas.
