SNOW!!!!! PRECIOUS SNOW!!! It has been snowing in the Maclaren Valley area since yesterday afternoon. Light fluffy beautiful snow falling lightly and cleansing the world of all the tracks and setting the foundation for a few to make their own tracks in the snow. To top off the snow, it is 15 ABOVE this morning, for our low!!!

Finally, finally the cold spell has been broken and we are finally getting a taste of the spring air. Not that we are getting ahead of ourselves, the weather is such a fickle thing and change on us in a flash, but we will sure enjoy this while it lasts!

We are seeing more and more dog teams on the trails make sure everyone is aware and be careful. These trails are for everyone’s use. Be on the lookout for Avalanche Zones. With this fresh snow, it is making some heavy layers on the mountains. Always watch for open water or spots where the ice has caved in on the rivers.

TRAIL REPORT

Paxson to Maclaren Valley - Paxson to 8 mile is in excellent shape, from 9 mile to 15 mile, ride the right side of the road, it is wind blown (like always) and has some new drifts in it since I groomed it but is much better then it was. Sleds have been getting hot in that area, but with this fresh snow on the trail, it should solve that problem. Tangles to Maclaren is fantastic.

Cantwell to Maclaren Valley – Great shape all the way, there are two spots that have some drifting in them, around 96 mile and 60 mile look out for that. Other than that, it is great.

Glacier trail – Well used groomed trail, still the best ride around.

7 Mile/Glacier Gap trail – this trail has been groomed and it is fast and fun. This will get you into the snowboarding areas.

Lake Louise Trail – this is being traveled more and more. Great trail. Jason and I hope to get some more time to cut brush and mark the trail in April.
