The meeting started with a very informative presentation by the Chief Ranger of the Northern Region of Alaska State Parks Ian Thomas. About the Chena River State Recreation Area and the trail riding opportunities there. 104 miles of groomed trial 8 public use cabins. Winter Show report:
We had about 44 renewals and 6 or 8 new members sign up. Looking at a smaller booth next year or sharing one with some one.

Larry Morris gave a report on the ride to Alpine Creek lodge on the Denali Highway. March 8-9 he picked the busiest weekend of the month! Price is 75$ minus 20% discount meals and lodging. Gas available I just called Claude at the lodge price of fuel is $7.00/gal. Contact the lodge for reservations 50% down to reserve your bed. Call in your reservation as soon as possible so they know how many to expect.

Swap Meet: Polaris Outpost, Saturday 10 am to 3pm Bring your stuff! The Outpost is going to be grilling some meat. We will have some coffee. Thanks to Juan Goula for heading this up!

We have three Groomers available to us contact John Johnston if you want to use one.

Steve Enochs our representative to the Snow TRACs Board, reported on the goings on with the program. After much mashing of teeth most of those present, where in agreement that the program is fatally flawed! What are we going to do about it?

NAOI will be doing an avalanche class at Compeaus on Oct 26th 2-4 pm.

Larry Morris reported on the FNSB Trails Advisory Committee
They have requested 150,000 for the Isberg to Tanana river trail, part of the 100 mile loop.
Trails Advisory Commission
Established by ordinance under Chapter 2.62 to be the advisory body to borough government on matters relating to trails within the borough, especially relating to the comprehensive recreational trails plan, a component of the Comprehensive Plan of the Fairbanks North Star Borough. This commission replaces the duties of the Parks and Recreation Commission in regard to trails and the borough trail system. It is supported administratively by the Parks and Recreation Department. This commission is up for reauthorization every six years, by ordinance. This commission was reauthorized in 2012. The Trails Advisory Commission meets quarterly as described by ordinance 2.62. The Swap meet was pretty slim Stoney I think was the only one that sold anything. But the conversation and the food provided by Polaris Outpost was pretty good! You should have came by and said HI!
