Re: Memorial Weekend
So I was informed that I'm leading a ride on Memorial Weekend.
Guess we'll have to set a departure time from the Nome Creek Bridge, say 10:00 AM Saturday, wouldn't want anyone getting up to early.
Not sure I'll be able to stay for the weekend, but maybe at least Saturday night :<) which we'll probable also have to do a Sunday ride.

Re: Memorial Weekend
If I bring the RV I'll be near the bridge, right turn just before the bridge and down the dirt road a bit.
I figure its higher ground than our last adventure there

You mean next to Stoneys camp spot. That's a lucky spot for sure!!!
Re: Memorial Weekend
You'll not going to Donnelly Dome this year?
Me, Shawn, Dawn and a bunch of their friends are heading there.

Yeah Larry, the lucky "catch you as you float by" spot
Love to go to Donnely Dome, but I can do Nome Creek as a day ride and not sure the wife can get the weekend off :(

Re: Memorial Weekend
Going to review where we're going at the Pot Luck.
We may change locations and "not" go to Nome Creek, unless we get more input for others that want to go there.
More at the Pot Luck.

Re: Memorial Weekend
So it seems were having a multi-ride weekend.
Some are going to Donnley Dome and others are going to Cleary Summit.
Those going to Donnley, should post to Shawn and see where/when to meet.
Those going to Cleary need to email Stoney.

Re: Memorial Weekend ride report 23 @ 24th May.
Sat. 23rd. we had 4 people, Stoney, John J, Dave O, and Steven E. We checked out the gold mining that had once taken place on Little Eldorado, Spruce,Louis and Wolf creeks. We then rode over to Chatanika Lodge for a bite to eat. The trail was dusty, but still had some mud holes, that needed tow strap action. It was like quicksand. We rode only about 47 miles, it was hot, 85 plus. Sun. 24th. it was only me and Steven E. We rode the trail on the South side of Pedro Dome, just above Dome Cr.valley. This trail had lots of mud, not to dusty. When we got off it and on Old Murphy Dome rd. that changed, lots of dust. We rode the pipeline, and vault rd. over to Hilltop Café. After a cold drink, it was back to camp. I had a very enjoyable time, and enjoyed everyones company. John J. took a few photos, hope he will post them. Stoney.
