Tanana Flats next weekend

#1 Post by billy6384 »

Noticed the location of this ride in a couple weekends. Some activities going on at Chena Pump landing, that they call it Chena "Pimp" now?

Our ride leader, Paul Renschen, will not be able to lead the Jan. 24th Tanana flats ride. He is recovering from a medical procedure. We need a volunteer to lead this ride, or a ride somewhere else. If your interested post your info. on this site. :fluffly: Thanks, STONEY.

Has anyone who's been in the Tanana Flats volunteered to lead this ride yet?

Tony, not sure at this time, still considering it. Since this is a Family ride, not sure how the ice conditions are considering.

The trail that usually goes from Nenana over the river towards Mondo isn't in. The ice by the bridge just froze up about a week maybe 10 days ago and looks pretty thin (as of Tues. 1/20)

I need to talk to someone who has ridden the river towards Nenana or get someone to go with me on it. That and temp will determine if its s go or not.

Not to be negative, but it's going to be cold this weekend. Saturday's high will be -15.

Good, we need some cold weather to freeze the rivers up better. I think we've gotten spoiled this winter 8)
