Tanana river

So the Tanana is opening up close to town due to the Chena, but further down the river is awesome. We got some snow last week and then some wind which covered every track, bump, and hole, the river is fresh and perfectly flat. I went to wood river last night and its the best riding I've seen on the Tanana in years. We're goin to Nenana today and maybe out to Minto and back.

I don't think you can get out from te Chena pump landing, but you can get out anywhere downstream if you know someone with access. Or down to the old Rosie creek landing.

Be careful, Tanana search and rescue has been advising to stay off the river for a couple weeks. I have flown it and there is lots of open water and holes starting to show up. I put one threw the ice in April on the Tanana before.
