I guess I can bail you out and lead this one :)

Of course I expect retribution, say maybe help with the Iron Dog staking between Nenana and Manley s you'll be going out that way anyhow. <BG>

There is always a catch somewhere! But there are much worse things to do than riding the river to Manley! :sledwave:

Well OK, I forgot I was leading this ride, as noted during yesterday's ride when I asked who the leader was

So the plan is to meet at Chanatnika Lodge at 9:00 AM for breakfast and then go to 42 mile to unload and head out around 10:15 or so.

The ride will go to Cache Mountain Cabin, 26 miles in and maybe farther towards Cache Mountain Divide another 15 miles give or take.

Sounds like a fun ride and the schedule is looking clear. As of right now the wife and I plan to be there. Two quick questions, is this ride a good beginner ride? My wife is new to snowmmobiling and has just been riding on the trails at Ft Wainwright (nothing to tough). And then the second question is, can I follow somebody up to the drop off point? I live on Ft Wainwright and am very new to the area, I can meet somebody along the Steese highway at some turn off. I hope everything works out with work and we can make this and many more rides. Also, I'm willing to help out with the Iron Dog in any way, just let my know.

Hey Jason,

This should be an easy ride and a good one for new riders, wife should be fine.

We'll all meet at Chatanika Lodge, so you can follow us from there. The lodge is at 27 Mile Steese Hwy (give or take) and pretty easy to find if you haven't been up the Steese. Head to Fox and turn right to stay on Steese, if you go straight you'll end up on the Elliott Hwy. Takes about 35 to 40 minutes from Airport and Steese.

I'll keep an eye on the temps and call this one Friday afternoon so I can let Chatanika Lodge know if were "not" coming down, of course we could always meet @ 9:00 for breakfast and go from there ?

Anywho, NOAA Predictions
Friday Night Through Saturday Night: Mostly clear. Lows around 35 below. Highs around 25 below.
With highs around -25 below I'll be reading a good book by a warm fire :) So let's hope their wrong and the temps go up.

I'll call it based on Poker Flats temps rather then the airports. http://apps.pfrr.alaska.edu/weather/
