Re: local ride for the 28-29
We might be up for something on Sunday. I think the wife wanted to go ice fishing out at Chena Lakes. I've been wanting to check out the North Fork trail to Chena Hot Springs or the C/F trail (marked with warn wooden placard) that goes East off of the Circle Fairbanks trail up by Skiland. Also been chomping at the bit to go west of Murphy Dome and head down to the Dunbar Sled road and check that out as well.
Tried to do the North Fork trail last Tuesday but was stopped by the burning school bus on Chena Hot Springs Rd. So we hit plan B and went out to Chatanika and had a blast.
Today we went down the river from the base of Chena Pump and played in the powder fields. Was snowing big fat flakes for a solid hour or two. Flat light though and the trail was hard to follow at times. But it sure was fun!

Sunday we rode the Circle/Fairbanks Trail to just past mile 13. We got first tracks in 8 inches of new snow, had a blast. It's snowing hard up here on Cleary Summit right now. Should be great this weekend. I spent today servicing the Tucker and will groom up here on top and to the Chatanika Lodge tomorrow. Ron at the lodge is going to groom to the Elliott from the Lodge and maybe up Haystack. Currently plus 7 up here. Check our weather at:

Think snow,

Started grooming up here yesterday and encountered hydraulic problems with the Tucker. Had to limp home with the blade stuck in the down position. Ron groomed to the Elliott and back to the lodge yesterday. Lots of new snow up here and still snowing.

Apparently thinking about snow worked! Got 5 fresh fluffy inches at the base of the hills in the Goldstream Valley. Can't wait to see what we have up at the top!

Got the Tucker running again and groomed to the Lodge last night. Looks like we have about 10 inches of new snow up here and on the Circle Trail.
