New to Fairbanks and Snowmachines

#1 Post by mstrick84 »

Just moving to Fairbanks from Seattle and totally new to snow machining. Always wanted to get into the sport and decided no time better than now and in Fairbanks! Looking for tips on riding and purchasing my first snow machine!

Well Welcome to the Golden Heart City!

Best advise for your first machine is to get out and ride as many different sleds as you can. Find one that fits you and your riding preference.

Most snowmachiners are very brand loyal. They all have thier strong points, and to some extent they all have some shortcomings
. After we get a little more snow, I think the dealers will all be able to set you up with a few to test ride. Good luck with your choice!

welcome! what he said ^. if you ask around youll get some ideas on which places are good to deal with and which....not so much. finding whats comfortable for you and the type of riding you plan to do is the best thing to do.

Summit got it right, you should try different rides and talk to some riders.

Come to the FST membership meeting to get some good info.

Welcome! They are all right about different brands and dealers, just like with cars, people get brand loyal and find a dealer they can work well with. You are more than welcome to come to a meeting and check out the club. We have some pretty good rides scheduled this year.
