Denali Highway to Lake Louise

#1 Post by aragorn »

I would like to snowmachine from Tangle Lakes Lodge area (preferably) to Lake Louise Lodge this weekend and spend Saturday night at LL Lodge and back Sunday. How do I get intel on trails and conditions? Have any of you done it? I see old posts about a trail from MacLaren to LL but would rather not snow-go all the way in to MacLaren. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Dennis

Alan at MacLaren is probable the best source for the trail to Lake Louise Lodge, its not all that far from Tangle Lakes to MacLaren, maybe 22 miles on the Denali Hwy.

Usually a great a ride. Spot to watch for is near the Susitna Bridge, about mile 65 or so. Tends to get wind blown and bare.

I've always seen lots of wildlife on that run, so watch out for Caribou on the trail.
