To view the exact trail and location of the obstruction go to https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B4z6hh ... FmOTkwOTQz (this should not prompt you for log in.)

From Scott:

If people contact Bill Satterberg's office at 452-4454 and say they want to give an affidavit for the Chesney case, Satterberg's people will take their name and a phone number and will draft an affidavit that people can drop by to complete and sign - their front office people can notarize the affidavit. Their office is on 4th Ave.

Scott is a musher who lives in the area and uses this trail a lot.

Any questions please let me know and I'll do what I can to find the answer for you.

Anyway to get the exact GPS Coords. I could compare it to some of the trail maps we have to (maybe) show documented previous use, if we have it listed on one of our GPS'd trail maps.

I hope he is. I think there is a dog crossing sign there on hot springs by the church. Is this rs277 trail?

Can there be more of a discussion as to why the church may be obstructing the trail...also what church and where?

Heather gave a presentation of sorts on the issue at the Nov. General Membership meeting. The high points were (Heather please correct)

Land sold that the trail runs through, but the new owner said she'd keep the trail open. After sale she changed her mind and then said they could divert the trail to the borderline of her property, before this happened she again changed her mind and now just wants it closed to all trail users.

I don't believe its the Church itself, Church is the name of that portion of the trail that was closed off.

Since there were various discussions and the new owner has decided to eliminate all access, the law suit was started in an attempt to get some resolution that would give the new owner the "quite" they want and also keep the trail open to users. This is a long standing trail and has been established for years.

My 2 cents as I understand it. Anyone have more accurate info, please correct.

I believe John is correct. (Owner of property is blocking access is what it summs up as.)

Scott says TRDMA is involved and is providing a letter of support.

He may be able to show a trail from before statehood, but if anyone has anything that would help, he'd greatly appreciate it.

Darrell,

Tha is what Scott is asking for.

If you could contact Bill Satterberg's office at 452-4454 and say you want to give an affidavit for the Chesney case, Satterberg's people will take your name and a phone number and will draft an affidavit that you can drop by to complete and sign - their front office people can notarize the affidavit. Scott would greatly appreciate this.

I just got out of my trails advisory commission meeting where two of the people involved are also members. The case was postponed two weeks for final arguments. Jeff Orth said the case looked very good for the parties fighting for the trail to remain public.
