Hello all,

The bill to preserve the Goldstream Public Use Area (SB 195) passed the state Senate with no opposition. It is now in the state House of Representatives and has been assigned just one committee--Resources. That's good news because many bills are assigned to several committees. However, Resources has not scheduled a hearing for the bill. The 90-day session is nearing its end (April 18) and SB 195 could easily get forgotten in the rush to pass other, higher profile bills.

If you support the Goldstream Public Use Area, please take a moment to call or email the co-chairmen of the House Resources Committee and ask them to schedule a hearing for the bill. Consider emphasizing the importance of the Goldstream PUA to a wide variety of people--snowmachiners, dog mushers, skijorers, runners, hunters, birders, berry pickers, cyclers, snowshoers, skiers, and more. Also consider emphasizing the lack of opposition to the bill. (I have not heard of any yet.)

The email below from Derek Miller of Rep. Mike Kelly's office includes the emails and phone numbers of the co-chairs of the House Resources Committee. Please act quickly. SB 195 has come a long way in a hurry, but it could easily get shoved aside if enough people don't speak up for it.

Appreciate your offer and I think efforts to get SB 195/HB 250 heard would be best directed towards the co-chairs of the House Resources Committee, Representatives Mark Neuman and Craig Johnson. It’s easiest to email them:
