MacLaren Trail report

#1 Post by john »

From Allen and Suzie
Hello all,

It appears that mother nature wanted to make sure we didn’t forget where we live. It’s been a little chilly (-30s) here the last few days, but after the mild start to the winter I don’t think we can complain much.

The snow is really looking great this year. With the warm temps on our first snowfall, we have a really nice base. Now with all the fresh stuff on top it makes for some great riding, especially for the first of Dec.

Todd will be here on the 6th and we will have the groomer up and running and makin tracks.

Right now the trail from Paxson is in really good shape. We spent a lot of time pulling packers on the 9 mile to 15 mile section when it was really warm and we had lots of soft snow on the road, so I’m hoping we may have won the bare pavement battle. Time will tell.

Sounds like the military boys are pulling out of the Su area, so the road will start to fill back in on that end as soon as we get some more snow.

Seven Mile Lake Trail will be in the first of next week as will the Maclaren River Road Trail.

Also, in regards to club memberships,

Bing Prichard of Hap Enterprises has put out a $50 challenge to the person who can recruit the most club members from the 5th of Dec to the 5th of Jan. Talk to your friends and neighbors and make sure they tell us who recruited them so we can credit you with their membership.

Please be careful out there and always, “keep the blue overhead the white underneath and all the goodies in the middle”
