Best riding area-Denali Highway!

#1 Post by Alpine Creek Lodge »

By and far the best area is the Denali Highway! Road the highway last weekend, and it was excellent! Riding the road in from either Cantwell or Paxson is great, and there is about 3 to 4 feet of powder and you can jump off anywhere to go play! Lot's of mountains to climb and you'll be the first ones on many of them! Stop and stay at Maclaren River Lodge or Alpine Creek Lodge. Both are open for business! We have some riding pic's from last weekend on our website on our 'winter at the lodge' link here: http://www.alpinecreeklodge.com/id65.html

Welcome Alpine Creek Lodge! The club has a ride planned to Maclaren Lodge on Feb. 28th, depending on which area we ride, some may take the opportunity to stop by and say hi.

Great to hear! If you get by that way, at least stop in to warm up and have a free cup of coffee, and check out the place! The ride in from Cantwell is excellent. We've been running up most weekends and bringing supplies to Bryan and Angela, and the trail is great. We are cutting a trail into the Alpine just a few hundred feet above the lodge. It's a huge bowl up there with some great hill climbing, and probably never been ridden! Signs are out on the Denali Highway, so you won't have any trouble seeing the lodge.

Just an update on riding conditions! Al at Maclaren has posted a snow updates on his website. He notes that this is the best snow he's seen up there since 2000! Check out his notes on his website, on the and check out our new riding pic's on ours! Both lodges are open!
