Well, it won't actually be the last ride (we are going to the mountains again on Saturday) but it will be my last local ride this winter. Son Paul had some free time yesterday and I am always looking for someone to go into the Flats with me, so we went.
It was an absolutely beautiful day, about 20 degrees, no wind and a cloudless sky. We went out at about 1400. I knew the snow on the "trails" was going to be hard, but it was even harder than I had expected it to be. Off the trails it had a crust, but there was still a foot or more of snow where ever we went. From the tracks, the only other rider who has been out there in weeks was a trapper taking in his traps.
This is in the "big meadow." You can barely see the mountains in the background. We rode there to take in the view and then started for home. We were home at about 1630. It had not been a long ride, but it was beautiful out there.
