The Maclaren weekend (8-9 March) was the best riding I have seen this year. They had 8-10 of fresh snow for us and the hospitality at the Lodge was, as ususal, great.
They usually start plowing the road after Arctic Man. The trailer and tent are probably the guys in there working for MWR. They were headed in as we left on Easter weekend.
The trailer and & tent was brought in by A.K. supply across the snow in support of finishing a remote communications tower install at Round Mountain. Both had P-tex under them and the trail is fine. We drove the Denali Hwy end to end this weekend and stopped in at Maclaren each way. We found 100’ sections of bare gravel east of the Sue bridge. Alan has do a great job re-establishing a trail through the first 17 miles from Paxson to the gravel pit where they plowed. The road is flat, fast and well used. A little snow would help.
