Looking for a Room.

#1 Post by Darrell »

Going south, need a room some where from Petersville to Willow. Like to keep it under $100. In late Jan 08. Anyone got a recommendation?

Snowmachining can open up miles of backcountry, even to casual riders. But when a day of pounding is done, having a warm place to dry off and eat some good food makes any trip more enjoyable.

Many of Southcentral Alaska's bed and breakfast and lodge owners stay open in winter to accommodate the winter traveler. Some even offer snowmachine tours to acquaint you with the terrain.

In the past, some locations have offered snowmachine rentals as part of the their packages, but because of high fuel and insurance costs, only a handful still provide that service.

The list below is not intended as a complete list of every area lodge serving snowmobilers -- it's a highlight of some spots worth considering. So bring your own snowmachine or rent one in town. Then head out for a unique winter getaway.
