We had a nice time! 25-30 degrees during the day. Yes I wish there was more snow.
From Paxson to about 8 mile, the Yamaha test team has the snow about used up on the road. You can still find fluff in the ditches but watch for rocks! The rest of the way to the lodge is good. (no bare pavement). I even did some boondocking for some birds and it’s not bad. We didn’t get any fresh stuff while we stayed. Towards the Sue it is good to about 70 Mile. As you approach that mountain ridge just before the Sue the snow is all but gone on the road but it wasn’t a factor because we explored a dozer trail just after the Clearwater bridge. Look for an old outhouse on the right. Take the trail past it. There is a maze of trails. We ventured roughly west and ended paralleling the highway most of the way. Great scenery. It had a little of everything to offer, rolling hills, ponds, cliffs, vantage points, timber and game. I think it would eventually connect to the highway near the Sue. Lodge. There are many opportunities to go right and check out the highway. Other trails lead south to parts unknown. We had a beginner rider and she did fine. It was a 65 mile day.
