Chatanika-Chena Hot Springs Road Trail

Yesterday I broke out the section of the Chatanika/Chena Hot Springs Road Trail across Fish Creek and up the Hillbilly Highway to Iowa Ridge. The road on Iowa Ridge has not been plowed this year and has been well packed by snowmachine traffic. The trail to Iowa Dome and Ridge from Iowa Creek and Chena Hot Springs Road appears to have been well used already this season. In other words, the trail is open from Chena Hot Springs Road to Chatanika. The only caution is watch for small trees and stumps under the snow on the lower part of the Hillbilly Highway. I also groomed the trail from Fish Creek to the Alpha C Site. When you cross Fish Creek try not to tear up the snow ramps we built on it.
