Great Powder!

#1 Post by Maclaren River Lodge » Fri Nov 19, 2004 7:06 am

Greetings All!!

It is another beautiful day here in the back country! The snow is deep and perfect for riding. We have received another 8 inches or so since our last letter. The weather has been warm, it was in the 30's all weekend. Today it has cooled down, it is 6 degrees. We have had very little wind in the past week, so all this snow has stayed right where it should.

Everyone that was here this last weekend had an absolute BLAST! Riding was great. It is a great feeling to see machines come into the parking lot just packed with snow. Lots of riding in powder!
Plus, there is a great base under all that powder. Perfect!
We have riders coming in from the Cantwell side, the snow is deep and riding is great! The people coming in cannot believe how much snow there is and what perfect snow for riding.
Still watch for avalanche areas. We do not want anyone hurt or worse! We have been keeping an eye on the mountains around. The bigger, steeper ones up by the glacier have already lost some of the snow pack, you can see where there have been some slides.

Alan has the groomer on the way in from Paxson!!! Finally, we got enough snow to move the tracks!!! Attached is night photo of the groomer at work. Looks pretty cool, huh.

We are booked for Thanksgiving already.
Start making those Christmas Reservations now! And listen to KIAK & EDGE for the MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION. Lets help someones wish come true. It is truely a great cause. We have weekend packages up for bid for Valentines Day and Arctic Man, as well as a couple of other packages.

A special hello to our friends in Korea. Yes, we have now gone International!!

We really look forward to seeing everyone. Time to get out there and RIDE!!!!!
