Arctic Man

#1 Post by skelsey »

Anybody heard if the roads are as bad as I fear heading to Arctic man. Rented a Motorhome and drove it up from Anchorage on Friday before all the weather. Planned on going down Monday morning but decided against it, which was a good decision after hearing about the tanker truck fire. Have been in touch with Brian from Outpost via text and he says its blowing and flat up there. I got the road report and wx camera sights and forecast. Not looking to good at this point. Thats what I get for renting three spots and a Motorhome. Last year went up and slept in truck, and had beautiful wx. Thats AK for ya, :-)

The DOT Weather Station at Trim's Camp next to Pump 10 says 6 below and max wind 3 mph.

The FAA Cams at Delta, Blackrapids and Isabel all look pretty good.

Here's a link to DOT's 511 driving conditions site. Sounds like Fairbanks toward Delta isn't real great.

Have a good trip.
