When will it snow

#1 Post by john »

The first recordable snow fall last year was Saturday, September 27, 2008 (At the airport)

When do think it'll first snow in 2009 ?

I'm shooting for Sept 25th.

well seeing how you guys started this ....... I was on a river float sunday @38 mile to 35 chena hot springs road on the upper chena when I ran across a birch tree that has turned all yellow, only one but dang!
so my pick August 20 25th , doesn't stay but freaks everyone out ..then Nov. 10th to stay.

Food for thought, no to little rain this year, our annual precipitation is pretty much the same every year, so no rain should = lots of snow :supperhappy:

Saw several geese starting to fly south. Shoulda taken Alaska Airlines. Geese don't have HUD systems to fly in the smoke :tounge:

Obi, you sure it was geese and not a Goose with floats :<)

PolarB, it might turn to snow and then you'd win the guessing game .

Of course I don't care, I'm heading south of Denali Tomorrow afternoon and getting away from all this smoky rain for 3 days... :4x4:

No self-respecting goose would fly Ak Air because:
1. They can't fly because they can't see and
2. The service has gone so far downhill!
John- hope going that far south gets you out of the smoke, last weekend it was still around at 80 mile on the Rich.
Here's hoping we get a great snow year!

John: I've seen a Goose on floats, and these were not it! :shockedeye:

Jody: There might be some geese out there with no self respect out there. Who knows? :tounge:

Went to Delta on Saturday trying to get away from the smoke. No dice. Same as here. I did score a nice helmet from Tanana Adventure Sports, however , and Crystal and I enjoyed a monster pizza from Pizza Bella

Glad to see the smoke gone and the fires reduced. Gotta start working on the sleds to get them ready :fluffly:

I sure hope all of you wishing for snow are happy, I had 30 degrees yesterday morning, frost on everything!!! Even had to scrape the windshield! I am not saying that I can't wait to ride but jeez, let us get the wood put away. We also have some hunting to do. Then, bring on the fluff.

The stuff falling on Ft. Wainwright this morning at 2:00 was a little more solid than rain but not quite fluffy. I missed it by a day in my book!!! Glad to have our soldier home!!!!! :groupwave: Thanks to all our SBCT soldiers and welcome home!
