Snowmobile Insurance

#1 Post by rocketdoc637 »

Does anyone have any suggestions on the most affordable insurance companies for snowmachines? Our current carrier has decided to discontine snowmobile coverage from their line.

I had Progressive. Available through Alaska USA Insurance. Talk to Jaci Glenn at the Local Office.

I use State Farm in North Pole, they've been pretty good to me and the rate are decent.

I assume you are in the USAF. If so, you can't get better insurance than USAA and they insure snowmobiles.

I'll forgive your for the Air force joke Paul as I am in the ARMY but I know what you meant. Usaa doesn't like to insure toys very much and their rates are fairly high for boats, atvs, motorcycles and snowmachines. i went with a company out of Canada that I found on the SnoWest forum. It is IWSF ( Internatioanal Water Safety Foundation) Cheapest I had found. Used to be insured with Polaris Industries (Markel) but they quit insuring snowmachines.

Is it just me or does it seem strange that an outfit called Polaris Industries wouldn't insure snowmachines!?! :joke:

USAA farms all the toys out through progressive and there rates suck. I have 2 Nytros and even though they are 4 stroke they count them as 1,000CC sleds and put them in the high risk category.

That's because they paint them with the same brush as motorcycles. Try Allstate or State Farm. I personally stay away from GEICO, but that is a personal issue dating back to the late 80's. I don't care for insurance companies giving free radar guns to law enforcement so they can write more tickets.. More tickets = higher rates = higher profits. True story. They got caught with their hand in the cookie jar when an internal memo was leaked to the press. If I ever see that gecko I'll run it over with my sled, the one with the studded track

That is why I use state farm. Gieco and Progressive will never see a cent of my money. I have had past problems with them as well.
