White Mountains Update

#1 Post by john »

The snow is great in the whites, 2 - 3 feet deep. We went in at 57 mile Steese and took Nome Creek road in. There was only one other sled track all the way in to the end of the road, at least till we got there :D

Nome Creek is frozen enough that we could of gone in at 42 mile Steese, so crossing is no problem. The trail off of Nome creek road to Richards Cabin is rough. If you go in, look for a side trail and take it, a little slower going, dodging between trees, but much smoother and easier on the back....

Although you can cross the creeks, there are still some open leads, so if you ride down any of the creek beds keep your eyes open for them.

Enjoy
