I read this. I wish I could be so lucky to have them show up in my yard. It seems like the guys that want to see them and go calling never get that lucky.

believe it or not I saw my first wolf today when I was headed to lunch on Eielson, I'd say it weighed about 85lbs and had a white/grey coat, a little big for a coyote, and it was no dog. It looked just like the ones you see in books when you live in the lower 48. :shock:

Ain't that the truth. Maybe its time to do some sightseeing along the CHSR, have to bring 223 along of course :)

We have at least one pack up here on Cleary Summit. My neighbor was skiing on the trail to Chatanika last week and heard them howling. Said he could hear at least 6 individuals. The trail is covered with tracks. Bring your 223 up here John. The trail from Champagne Rock to the lodge is garbage according to him. I haven't been out on a sled since my last report. We've had winds to 50 mph over the last week up here. Finally calmed down today. Temperature is plus 16.
