I'm the volunteer coordinator for the Tanana River Challenge race which
will be March 9 this year (http://tananariverchallenge.org/).
It's a ski/bike/run/skijor event with 25 and 45 mile courses that are
partially on the river and partially on the Rosie Creek trail system. There
are 4 checkpoints along the way and we wonder if the Fairbanks Snow
Travelers might be interested in managing one? We provide the supplies.
Volunteers are responsible for getting the supplies to their checkpoint,
setting up, supporting the racers as they come by, and taking the
checkpoints down at the end of the race. In most cases its an all day
commitment, but its a lot of fun, and the racers really appreciate it.
There will also be a post-race party with food, refreshments, and bonfire
at the end of the day. Please let me know if there is any interest from
This is the place to post events and activities that are not FST specific. So if you or your organization are aware of, or having an event that is snow related, please post it here for all to see. Non registered visitors may post to this forum.
