Greetings,

The Maclaren crew have been busy this week.
The trail from Paxson has been groomed and as of last night, was smoooootttttthhhhh!!!!
The thaw pipes on 13 mile hill have been marked to avoid track damage. You cannot miss the reflective marker on that. Lots of moose in the area, be careful. Nothing will ruin a weekend quicker than hitting a moose with a snowmachine (ouch!).
High Valley has tons of deep powder with a great base. Even the short tracks are not having a problem getting around. Watch those mountain tops, there are still some nasty looking cornices on the tops. There has been some slides to relieve the pressure on most, but there is still "danger" there.
Last weekend Alan groomed the Maclaren River Road - across the valley - and into 7 Mile Lake. Later that night, we went out and staked the trail (see the photo). What a beautiful night. +10, perfect snow conditions and a smooth trail. 7 Mile Lake has great powder on it and is now only a few minutes from the lodge. It is amazing how quick the ride takes on a groomed trail.

We have a roaring fire today (-28) so the lodge is warm, the food is hot, and the company is the best!

PS: Great News! We have been experimenting with new phone systems. We have finally found one that will work. We are ordering the modems and stuff, so SOON we will have a phone!!!
We will let everyone have the number as soon as we know what it will be (it will be a Washington zip) so will be long distance for everyone. We are very excited about this development and will keep everyone informed on the progress. S
