Erosion and Us

#1 Post by Darrell »

After the fires of 2004 what is going to happen to our trails come spring and break up? If wash out are report to this web site should club try and save trails or should we just cut new trail. Keep in mind this new topic and report wash outs here as you see them this spring. Maybe BLM will be some help on this. How about some ideas yoou all.

When the Chatanika/Cleary Summit Trail started to erode after fire fighters used it this summer I called Alaska Forestry. They surveyed it with me and then came back and put in water bars to stop the erosion. They have been very co-operative.

Thats good news Chuck. My hope is that is one more area (erosion) that we keep from being a issue for snowmachine access.
