Northern Area Natural Resource Technician position

#1 Post by john »

The Northern Area of Alaska State Parks is recruiting for a 5-month permanent seasonal Natural Resource Technician I/II position (Range 10, and after 6 months Range 12) for the Chena River State Recreation Area. This position has many varied duties, providing assistance to the Park Ranger I, but the primary responsibility is to supervise a 6-person volunteer crew that maintains and improves the backcountry trails and facilities. The Chena River SRA is located 30 miles east of Fairbanks and offers more than a hundred miles of maintained trails, some motorized, some not. The summers are usually hot and dry -- great for clearing trees and building bridges. The clear, fast-flowing Chena River bisects the Recreation Area to provide other exciting recreation options. Check out the Recreation Area's features at Chena Rec Area.

Call with any questions: the NRTechnician's supervisor is Park Ranger Paul Lhotka 451-2653; and the Northern Area's Chief Ranger is Brooks Ludwig 451-2697.
