Snow-Machines and Water Don’t Mix

#1 Post by john »

An invitation from the Alaskan Trappers Association
The Alaska Trappers Association invites all snow-go riders to our monthly meeting on December 4 at the Mushers Hall.

Jim Masek will be the featured speaker on the topic of “Snow-Machines and Water Don’t Mix.” Jim will address several aspects of the watery hazards that riders can face each winter in Interior Alaska:

· How to “read” river and lake ice to avoid problems,

· How to extract a snow-go stuck in over-flow,

· How to extract a snow-go that has gone through ice into water, and

· The first five things to do to a submerged snow-go after it has been extracted from the water.

This meeting has been designated as our annual “Bring a Buddy Nite.” We invite our snow-go riding friends who could benefit from this presentation (even if they aren’t trappers). The meeting starts at 7:00PM. The first portion of the meeting is filled with announcements, reports, raffles, etc. The featured presentation will start at approx 7:45PM.
