Re: CANTWELL??

I looked at my schedule and it will most likely have to be a day trip for me on this one. I am going to be riding Valdez for New Years from Thursday-Monday. If you guys want down for a few days I could do a day trip on either the 26th (Sunday) and show you around that way you can spend the rest of t...

Re: CANTWELL??

Its very likely I will go with you on that one. Not for a week though. I am out of town right now but I will look at my schedule when I get back tomorrow and let you know. Looks like the riding is getting good there finally.

Re: Avalanche beacon group purchase

So the group purchase never really happened but thats ok. I just found out that snowbigdea.com has a huge sale going on for thanksgiving. The Tracker 2 Beacon MSRP 335.00 is on sale for 265.00. Its a steal of a price so get em while they have them!

Re: Stolen Sleds

Well I suppose there is a silver lining to this cloud.

As soon as I get my insurance check for the sleds I will be buying a new 2011 RMK Pro-R!

So I will have ridden every modern chassis on the snow and owned 3 out of the 4. Should be a fun season!!!!

Re: Snowlevels

Thompson pass is ready to ride. I got a ride report from this last Sunday and they had 5 to 6 feet of snow in the pass. Major stuckfest with snow coming over the hood.

Stolen Sleds

Well my riding season is going to have a late start. I got home Thursday afternoon from work and someone hot wired my ATV in front of my house and stole it. They also broke in and stole both of my sleds out of my garage. 2010 M8 and 2009 Nytro. Im posting flyers in the Badger gas area and trying to ...

Re: Avalanche beacon group purchase

Hum, maybe I'll keep the older one and give him the newer one as it'd be me he'd be looking for :<) So what happens if he's the one buried and you have the older, less accurate and user friendly beacon? This is why I have decided to always go with the best stuff I can possibly afford for avalanche ...

Re: Avalanche beacon group purchase

John, No I haven't asked about a package deal but I can if there is interest. If you (or anyone else in the club) are interested I will just give you my old backpack. It is the Fly Racing backpack that comes in that kit you can buy from Western Power Sports. Its not a bad pack but the shovel handle/...

Avalanche beacon group purchase

I'm trying to get people together for a group purchase of Avalanche beacons at Northern Power. The model I am looking at is the BCA tracker 2. Its arguably the easiest to use beacon there is and thats important when you are full of adrenaline searching for your buried friend. MSRP of the Tracker 2 i...

Re: Newbie

Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for good snow, I hear the almanac is predicting good snow for the interior this year.

This is the right place to start to meet people to ride with, lots of good people in the club that love to ride.

Re: North Pole Rider

Hey Michael, good to see a new mountain rider :).

I'll be making runs to Summit/Cantwell/Valdez all winter. I'll be sure to let the club know if I'm heading somewhere, especially if I have open trailer space.

Re: Avalanche Packs on sale

Yes, the outermost pouch is designed for a shovel blade and two side pouches for shovel handle and probe. The regulator and cylinder section is in the main compartment of the pack but is zippered off inside so you can still store some stuff inside the main compartment also. The 4th compartment is on...

Avalanche Packs on sale

If anyone is interested I thought I would pass this on. I found the BCA Float 30 avalanche pack on sale for $292.00 online and I picked one up for myself. The pack itself is really nice but of course the best part is that it can save your life in an avalanche. The MSRP on these was $500 for this sea...

Valdez Spring Riding!!!

Evan and I are down here in Valdez for 5 days. The riding here is amazing! All the powder you could dream of. Lucky for us we have had two blue bird days back to back riding. Right now Ive got a pretty good sunburn on my face from riding today. Got a couple cool pics. One is really awesome where Eva...

Re: Snow Machine Use In Dalton Hwy Corridor

John, I understand your point and I think the best thing about organizations like the Snow Travelers is fighting for our right to enjoy our sport. You must admit that a large amount of modification to the regulations on the 26B caribou hunt will have to happen. The caribou are still very much in the...
