Re: Hello

Nice ramp/deck! I'm thinking of doing the same on my Tacoma. I'd love to pick your brain on how you anchored it to the bed and how you tie the ramps to the rack when loading/unloading. Plastic skis, in addition to being lighter as mentioned also have the advantage that snow will not stick to t...

Re: Yamaha 2009 Bravo 250 thumb and grip heaters

Usually you want separate switches because the thumb warmer heats up way faster than the grip warmers, so you need independent control so you don't fry your thumb before your hands get warm. Trace back your wiring to make sure nothing melted/shorted. I would also test it independently to make sure t...

Re: Next Meeting

The meeting on the 4th at the Library is a Board Member meeting. You are welcome to stop by, but will probably find it boring (unless you'd like to vie for a spot on the board, we can always use some fresh blo..er... perspectives  ) The next general membership meeting will be on November 18...

Re: October meeting

Next General Membership meeting will be on Wednesday, November 18 at (I believe) Northern Power Sports on Van Horn. Crystal and I will miss that meeting, but we hope to meet you on the trail soon. :sledwave:

Re: Hello

Welcome to the sport. From where you are, if you can get to Geist then you can run west to the Mitchell, and that provides you with a great corridor so that you can make it to the ice bridge across the Tanana to the flats south of us. Most people don't mind sleds on the residential roads as long as ...

Re: Loading Ramp

I guess we can ask for suggestions at the General Membership Meeting, but I though we talked about setting it up at the Valley Center (?) over where tacks used to be? Maybe not. :?:

Re: FST Ramp at Chatanika

I don't think you need that many people there for just a sheet of plywood, but if Summit800 is buying breakfast, I'll be there! :joke: Seriously, do we still have the stencils? Maybe retouching the lettering wouldn't hurt. See you there. :clown: usafracer: follow the Steese Highway north to Fox. Rig...

Re: Snowmobile Insurance

USAA farms all the toys out through progressive and there rates suck. I have 2 Nytros and even though they are 4 stroke they count them as 1,000CC sleds and put them in the high risk category. That's because they paint them with the same brush as motorcycles. Try Allstate or State Farm. I personall...

Re: When will it snow

John: I've seen a Goose on floats, and these were not it! :shockedeye: Jody: There might be some geese out there with no self respect out there. Who knows? :tounge: Went to Delta on Saturday trying to get away from the smoke. No dice. Same as here. I did score a nice helmet from Tanana Adventure Spo...

Saw several geese starting to fly south. Shoulda taken Alaska Airlines. Geese don't have HUD systems to fly in the smoke :tounge:

The Iron Dog Pro-Class race in teams of two. Not sure if there is a displacement limit depending on the engine type, their rules book is not up yet. Here are their FAQs, directly from their website: Frequently Asked Questions The Iron Dog It’s the longest most challenging and most difficult race in ...

Really? No suggestions from anyone? Can't be!

Must be all this warm weather we are experiencing.

How's Old Murphy Dome Road, with breakfast/lunch at Hilltop? Probably a family ride, yes?

Re: just moved up and wanted to say hi

Welcome! Where do you hail from? Obviously from somewhere in the snow-belt

Looks like a pretty serious sled there. Planning on running the Iron Dog next spring?

Hope to see you at the Winter Show
