Re: Who recovers seats around Fairbanks
Yes, Alaska Canvas did my Touring E 's 2-up seat. I opted for the better fabric and it cost $200. They said the fabric is rated to -60. Little history of my choices: Seat #1. Simple one, old 85 Tundra. Replaced the board and added some extra foam. Bought fabric and my wife and I cut and she sewed th...

Rainy days
All summer long I wake up to see rain and wish it was 50 degrees colder and snowing instead. At least I can do something with snow!

Re: Summit Saturday 26th
Counted 7 snowmachines and 6 4-wheelers heading down past Harding, I would guess the snowmachines are heading to the mountains. How is the snow holding up?
oh, this was 7 PM Friday.

Re: ride this weekend?
Wonder how the trail and snow is holding up in the White Mountains. I think I'm up for another day trip. Maybe the full loop. Not going to the fiasco known as Arctic Man. The only reason I'd want to go there is to make the trip over to MacLaren. That area is just beautiful to go through. I'd rather ...

Re: ride this weekend?
I'll be there!
I'm not a morning person, but I'll try to make it on time to have some chow at Hill Top.
I'm driving a maroon Tundra with a 95 Summit 583 on the trailer. My son decided not to go.

Re: ride this weekend?
More than 80 miles, I'm hauling fuel. I think I fixed the issue, but my last trip I went through full tank on 80 miles. Figure I can get 100 or more now, but I've not tested it.

Re: ride this weekend?
I really don't know the White mountains all that well. I've only made one trip from the Wickersham parking area and got up to Windy gap cabins, then turned around and came back.

Re: ride this weekend?
I was wondering where to go. I think the Tanana is going to have a bunch of mushiness and possibly more open water.
Besides, the snow is getting pretty thin around town.
I was just asking a guy about North of here. Went on a white mountains trip couple weeks ago and it was still pretty good.

Re: arcticman
Saw at least 7 trucks headed out of town this morning on my way in from North Pole. Not sure where they were all going as most were just trucks and trailer. Only one motorhome. Most looked like work sleds, so maybe they are setting up the course. I've decided not to go down this year. Losing my desi...

Re: Chena Lakes Ride March 22nd
I rode out on the iron dog trail from Chena Lakes and down the Tanana. Lots of deep snow, some wind blown drifts. I went all the way to south cushman.
After returning, my son wanted to go for a ride and we tried to go up river, but lots of open water turned us around.

Re: Feb 8th : Two Rivers
I've never understood how people can ride without a helmet. The helmet keeps the wind off your head and it protects you from the willows slapping you silly on those tight trails. Not to mention the protection from a real thump.
I guess those who don't wear them are proving Darwin's theory.
